This was one of my favorite weddings from this year. As for why that is, well one reason is my inner nerd enjoyed the fact that the vineyard where the reception was held had a hobbit hole! That alone made my day. It was also one of the few weddings where I had the chance to take extensive pictures of the brides preparation time, it was alot of fun taking pictures of the things the ladies go through to look great on their wedding day, even if I did feel extremely outnumbered while at the salon!

The Vineyard where the ceremony was held was gorgeous, and to be honest I hope I get the chance to shoot another wedding there as it seems to be in a constant state of improvement! Katie got a wonderful vantage point while waiting for the ceremony, waiting in the upper floor of the main building with a great view of the fields and arriving guests. During the ceremony the piece I remember best was the release of the doves. The silly things didn’t want to take flight at first! They popped open the basket and the birds just sat there staring at us for a few moments, before finally taking flight. The vineyard made for a great place to take pictures, especially when the golden hour hit and I stole the happy couple out of the reception long enough to take a few sunset pictures. They were great sports and it was great fun capturing their feelings for each other!

During the reception I have to say this bunch was one of the more party friendly bunches I’ve taken pictures of. The dance floor was never empty, and frequently overflowing! There was a great energy in the air and everyone was obviously enjoying themselves. All in all Luc and Katies wedding was a memorable one, and one that I am very thankful to have been invited to take part in.
