Colt and Shelly got married on a moody day in May. The rain was supposed to wait until later that evening but it decided to shower us with its warm drops sooner than expected. The bride was a trooper and had no issues trudging through Irvine Park with an umbrella and her heels. They had a simple ceremony to celebrate their love and planned a reception for the following day for friends and family.
I met Shelly at a hotel in Chippewa Falls and captured her gorgeous dress, witnessed her sip on some pre ceremony beer and helped Colt tie his tie!

Then we took off for Irvine Park. I had never explored the park and was pleasantly shocked with the gorgeous river flowing through it and rock bluffs along the path. We took off umbrella’s in hand to capture the two dressed in their best!

We even stopped to do a little bit of dancing in the rain…………

This next image just speaks to me. It honestly isn’t a shot people would typically oooooh and ahhhhh over but I think it shows something special. As we were hiking through the woods Colt was completely attentive to Shelly. Helping her over stumps and down tree root stairs. He never once asked me if I needed assistance 😉 he was just so transfixed on his beautiful bride. I captured their hands joined while he helped her down and I think it is just the sweetest shot.

The hike was well worth it for shots like these two!

Once it was time for the ceremony the rain really started to come down. They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck and also increases fertility(said the pastor at Saturdays wedding). I loved capturing Shelly’s Dad helping her out of my car!

Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs.!
